About Peter Borys Jr.

Peter N. Borys Jr. is a spiritual writer and communicator of a new vision of human transformation.  He is the author of books on mystical transformation, self-development, and the evolution of culture and society.  Peter develops models for mystical transformation and ways of practice in everyday life that express the mystic way of being through our life of relationships, creativity, and work in the world.  He is the author of Transforming Heart and Mind:  Learning from the Mystics (Paulist Press, 2006), Unity of the Heart:  Transforming Consciousness to an Enlightened Humanity (Mill City Press, 2008), and Intention Beyond Inertia:  The Seven Qualities of Spiritual Creativity (forthcoming).

After a spiritual awakening in the 1990s, Peter’s personal development and research include the practice of the Prayer of the Heart, centering prayer, many scientific and spiritual approaches to self-understanding and healing, and formation with the Genesee Lay Contemplatives.  He is applying his spiritual experience, research, and writing to the healing and transformation of self, culture, and society.

Peter’s work synthesizes the emerging sciences of developmental psychology, trauma studies, depth psychology, consciousness studies, quantum physics, multidimensional physics, and subtle energy science with the spiritual traditions as a way to attract more persons to the pathway of healing and mystical transformation to the true self in Divine unity.  His current research and writing interests center on a spirituality of the heart, a unified mystical anthropology of the spirit, soul, and body in Divine unity, an energy model for Christian mystical transformation, the development of living the mystic way of being in everyday life, and the evolution to our true humanity.

Prior to his spiritual writing and work in human transformation, Peter was a co-founder of a family-owned marketing and distribution business that exported premium printing papers and distributed Italian-made papers in the U.S. market to customers such as Conde Nast House and Garden, The Smithsonian Institution, The 21 Club, and Universal Studios.  He has a B.A from Hamilton College and a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law.

Purpose

The purpose of Peter’s work is to expand the mystic way of being as a normative path in everyday life. He integrates transformation as lived through the spiritual traditions with the sciences to form a present day expression of healing and transformation to the true self in Divine unity.  We understand the human person as a multidimensional being of Divine energy, spirit, heart, mind, emotions, and body.  Our personal transformation to the unity of the true self becomes part of the evolution of culture and society to our true humanity.  The movement is our human destiny to transcend all fear in perfect love to live our true humanity of unlimited intention.  In the new vision of the mystic life, authentic transformation to the true self is lived through expressing all of our gifts of spiritual creativity in the world.  In this way, we seek to live from a transcendent consciousness within our embodied life of relationships and creativity.

Along the journey, we must work toward the wisdom and knowledge of mystical anthropology becoming the main experiential, spiritual, philosophical, and scientific understanding of life in the world.  As this occurs, we will reunite the gift of the physical form of the body with the unseen world of the mind and heart in the Spirit. The unseen dimension is beyond the speed of light and the body’s physical sensory system.  Our restoration and transformation require that the fullness of our unseen dimension of spirit and soul be lived through our body.

We are developing a framework to enable more persons to open to the path of healing and spiritual transformation to the true self in Divine unity.  The framework will assist in overcoming the negative inertia within the human condition so more people can take the narrow road to life.  The way of transformation proceeds by grace and human action in a united cooperative movement.  The goal is to put forth a mystical model of working through revelation, the practice of prayer and meditation, scientific insight, the healing of the fear-based personality, and relationships of self-giving to Divine Being, human beings, and the universe. This unified mystical way, lived from within the heart in everyday life, can help more to awaken to the grace of transformation to the true self of Divine unity in Christ.
