The work of Durckheim combines insights from Meister Eckhart, depth psychology, and Zen Buddhism. It is a powerful way of transforming and living from transcendence as expressed within our everyday life in the world.

Hara: The Vital Center of Man (Inner Traditions, ) by Karlfried Graf Durckheim.
The teaching of Durckheim emphasizes opening to our transcendent consciousness in within our daily experience in the world. His inner way of spiritual transformation includes the body. Transforming consciousness involves shifting our center of gravity to the vital center of our core as represented by the Japanese concept of “hara,” meaning “belly.”
